As a guide you are a part of the world community of Girl Guides. This association is offically called the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts or WAGGGS. The symbol of WAGGGS is the World Trefoil. Each part of the World Trefoil has meaning:

The gold colour of the Trefoil represents the sun shining over all the children of the world.

The base of the stalk symbolizes the flame of the love of humanity.

The vein pointing upwards through the centre of the Trefoil represents a compass needle, pointing the way.

The two stars represent the Promise and Law.

The flowing line around the Trefoil shows a world wide Movement.

The World Trefoil, also used on the World Flag, is the unifying symbol of Guiding.

The World Flag is blue, with the World Trefoil design in the upper left. It too has meaning.

The gold on the blue background represents the sun shining over the children of the world.

The blaze of white in the lower right corner is for world peace.

The three gold squares represent the threefold Promise.

The World Trefoil has its own meaning, as you saw above.

When the World Flag is used as a Company flag, our unit name and number is lettered across the top. We use this flag mostly for special unit occasions and parades.
